Pukani From the Gulf of Mexico

Just a heads up guys. Tampa Bay Saltwater (RC Sponsor) has 20k lbs. of Pukani going into the Gulf. Plus some really nice man made purple rock that was produced in Fiji and is nearly as light and porous which I would consider to be of equal quality with numerous shapes; like shelves, elongated rocks and boulders, full of holes and crevices (This is going to to be the future of rock for the aquarium). So in several months keep an eye out for REAL LIVE phosphate free Pukani and Ecofriendly rock :)

I had the day off from work today and also had the privilege of helping off load 3,500 lbs and man both of these rocks are amazing. (a day dumping rocks off a boat is still a better day than being at the office :lmao:)

Awesome, i got all of my rock from tampa bay saltwater just a few months ago. I couldn't be happier with the quality, out of all the years and places i've tried, I like theirs the best (Even if there are a few pests)

That is awesome! I used their rock for my tank and have been thrilled(still have one hard to catch gorilla crab). The rock I got from them was a little more dense/heavy than I would like but those rocks should be incredible in a few months.

If I wasn't too scared of hitchhikers I'd love their rock!

Have all types of other problems starting with dry rock...

Local reefer just got a bunch of their rock and just loves all the biodiversity on it :)

Really the only hitchhikers I'd be concerned with are gorilla, blue and stone crabs and mantis shrimp. Seltzer water is a sure fire way to drive them out of the rock.

Am I the only one that loves live rock for its biodiversity? Yeah, I have had my share of some nasty hitchhikers through the years, but I consider that very minor compared to the cool factor of never knowing what you will find. One of my favorite corals is a blue ridge octocoral that came in on a piece of wild Fiji rock I got years ago, but I have found many different types amazing hitchhikers.

Walt is amazing...

Walt is amazing...

Neat info there...watch the rock video.....Walt is the visionary in the emerging man made cultured live rock. I have been doing this for 40 years...and have never seen such a high quality, lightweight man made rock. I am real happy to be Walt Smiths stateside grow out facility for his man made rock.

From what I have seen of the first seven thousand pounds I put in the water a little over four months ago....this is going to be the most eco friendly and incredible cultured live rock on the planet......as it is already looking better than the natural live rock we have here in the gulf.

Will be putting out another 20,000 pounds in the next couple of weeks, and will be in the water for the annual august coral spawn....which will populate the rock with corals!

Indeed Richard. Thanks for mentioning him to me. I've been exploring his YouTube channel and it's real cool what they're doing in Fiji.
