Pumbling question

Hi folks,
I'm doing the plumbing of my tank right now and I have a question about the draining.
I have two holes on the back wall of the tank, close to each side of the tank. I plan to put the pipes going down on a 45 degress angle and join using a "Y" connector. My question is: should the pipe I will attach to the lower exit of the Y junction be of a bigger diameter than the first two? I thought that would be necessary to accommodate the flow coming from the two pipes.
Am I right?
Thanks!

I would say yes if your first 2 are 1" i would move up at the y to say a 1.5". It will carry the flow with no problems maybe even 1.25"

Perfect, thanks.
They are 1" so I will look at 1.25 or 1.5 connectors.
(btw, never thought these would be so hard to find in hardware stores :) )

Try home depot or a actual plumbing store. A lot of hardware stores only carry the larger stuff you use when plumbing houses.
