Pump combinations for a 300 galloon deep dimensions fowlr?

I'm setting up a 300 gallon DD FOWLR and I'm thinking about water flow.

The system will have ~300 lbs of live rock, a 2" sand bed, and house wrasses, butterflies and a couple of angels.

The return from the sump/fuge will be ~1000 gph.

I don't want to set up a closed loop, but rather use powerheads instead.

I want to spend ~$500 or less.

Given that constraint, what combinations of pumps would people recommend?

I use a panworld 50pxx 24/7 and during the day I run a panworld 40px for extra flow.

thanks guys, but I meant what combination of powerheads would you recommend, i.e.2 vortech mp40s or 3 tunze 1065's, etc?

I've already bought an eheim 1262 for the return.

Obviously the budget will not allow you to run multiple Vortechs which is a shame. I would save a little more and go with multiple vortechs. Are you using standard returns? I always like to run my returns through sea swirls instead of loc-line to provide more random flow. I thing the randomness of the flow is just as important as the amount of flow. My couple of cents.

I think Vortechs are out of the question on the $500 budget.

For $500 you might want to look at something like the:
KORALIA MAGNUM 8 - 3,250 gph which are about $100. With five of them you could get the equivalent flow of two MP60s, but without the random element.

Yes, I have it on the mid voltage setting and the 50pxx and 40 px for return

I love the idea of these "wavemakers," but the lateral stress that they generate, makes me nervous.

Does your tank "rock" in any appreciable way as a result of the water surges?
