I have a brand new ecotech marine
vectra M1 but ghl does not offer any control over only on/off so my options or buy a reef link or buy a pump they offer control over
If I can find a good used red dragon I will sell my vectra

This is why

I still don't get it. You can't vary the speed of your return because it will cause fluctuating water levels in your sump, causing your ATO to go nuts. If you have them on a closed loop that's a different story. All those fancy features are only useful in closed loop mode. As a return, other than tweaking output, once its set you don't have to touch it other than ON/OFF. Unless there is something I'm missing......

Good points, and it's true, I think controllable speed dc pumps are useful but just until you fine tune the right flow but once you do that you practically never touch the speed, most of the flow is control by the internal pumps at that point

Well now for your young whippersnappers I would agree to a point but now when your up on a ladder looking down on some prim real estate and want to just grab your phone and slow certain pumps down so visibility is clear to place that $400 WD nub just perfectly then crank them back up to see if the flow is just right....its a nice feature lol

I use this feature all the time with my with my RD DC230s and it can come in handy especially when out of town and your neighbor is taking care of your tank and she says the water level in the system is off just a little and you say one second .....how about now and she says hmm it s perfect now.....

Good point too Matt, but the reality is that the question is to recommend a pump that can be controlled with his Profilux and the answer is not the vectra as it isn't 0-10v controllable "yet", yes the red dragon 230w comes ready to do that out of the box and it is an option on the 80w version.
So what it comes down to if you want to keep the vectra is to skip the Profilux and control via their web based software (personally what I would do), or change the pump to one that can be controlled via 0-10v, there may be more available now and days but the only one I know is the red dragon
