I have been thinking on this and I may just put a fuge under the tank and do as you suggested here Ryan and run the Mag for the closed loop and run the sump up through the fuge from the basement. Maybe, I need to research it a bit more.
The reason I would like to put the sump in the basement is I really like the room that I have under the tank and would like to retain as much of that as I can. Also, I will be hooking up an RO unit finally, and that will be going in the basement. This will make it easier to hook up a top off to the sump and make water changes easier as I can just run a line to one of the basement drains.
Thanks for the information guys, I am sure there will be more questions as I have never set up a configuration like this before.
