i was walking through the store today and saw a PUR 3stage tap filter. i assume it will not yield as safe water as an RO DI unit, but does anyone know how effective it is and any actual numbers it produces (ppm)?
Can you post a link for product information? If it doesn't have a RO phase, it's probably not a good choice, IMO. You might be okay if you used pure DI with no RO, but you'd want to use bulk resin, etc.
I think you'd be better off with the RO-DI, for sure. I think that Pur is going to be expensive. You could also consider a DI-only solution, but it'll be more work, and might be more expensive than RO-DI, depending on your tapwater.
