purple BTA in the diver's den from LA?

Here's a photo of what these probably look like under white light. Pretty anemones, certainly, but I think I would call them purple-tipped green BTA's. There are a lot of people out there who think the zooxanthellae under actinic lighting looks purple - when in fact it is about as brown as brown can be :) I've seen many a brown mushroom sold as purple :) Ask for a photo of this anemone in full sunlight and you might be surprised at what you see :)

If they are like any other BTA then they should do great. I honestly find T-5's to be the most favorable lighting for BTA's.

BTW - I hope to have a couple of these on Wednesday through my LFS so I will post pics if they come in.

You have to find out if those are eggs in the tentacles or what, even if it takes snipping a tentacle off to find out.

I think he just needs to clean his glass better. ;) It appears that those "eggs" are algae on the glass the more I look at that picture.

I think they are in the tentacles. See how they change color if they are behind the purple spot on the tips

Honestly, no I don't. :) But had to use to switch out my good monitor at work for an old one for a couple of days, so it is harder to see things clearly.

Here is a pic of another so-called purple BTA that was just addded to LA's Divers Den. This one looks to be more of a green bta. It will be interesting to see how these all color up.
