Is a purple dotty a good first fish? Will it be aggressive in a75g?

Also i plan to add a banded possum wrasse down the road will it beat up on it?

In my opinion my dottybacks have been my favorite fish in my aquarium. Just be sure to add them once you have some larger fish established. I have had strawberry and orchid dottybacks and they have an awesome personality. I do recommend them just not as a first addition. My potters angel keeps my orchid dottyback attitude in check

For dottybacks, there are several considerations. P. fridmani, the orchid dottyback, is the least aggressive pseudochromis. However, dottybacks are not compatible with certain fish types such as fairy and flasher wrasses, and tank size does make a difference. In my friends 500 gallon tank, a neon dottyback does fine, in a small tank, the issue is a bit more critical. But in this hobby, you pay your money and take your chances.

Yes, they would be a fine first fish, but no they won't touch hair algae (IME). They are not grazers like other Blennies.

Hahaha, I completely agree with this. I have a Neon in my Damsel tank at work, and he is the king. A guy I used to work with does tank maintenance, and he got this fish from one of his customers. The fish is beautiful, one of the brightest fish in my system, but there's a reason he was brought to me haha. My friend goes through each tank, looking at who's inhabiting them, and just says "He'll be ok in here (with the damsels)." Then he says, and this is straight from his mouth haha, "If someone wants this fish, and you really like this person, DON'T sell them this animal."
