Purple Gigantea = detached and deflated

I have had a purple gigantea for 3 weeks now, I had a few issues with parameters last week but nothing too fast. Today I came home after a 7 hour journey to find my prized purple gigantea face down in the sand and shrivelled up, it's the first time its deflated but I didn't want to risk it and set the hospital tank up. I gave it it's first dose if ciprofloxacin about an hour ago 01.00am UK time. If it doesn't carry on deflating should I carry on treating it? Should I just observe it for a few days?
Any help appreciated .

Sick gigs typically take about 3 weeks before showing symptoms of sickness, so you are par for the course. However, it should not have detached and should not be face down.

You should definitely continue treatment for 5-7 days. Antibiotics need to be administered over the course of a few days to be truly effective. Follow the directions in the sticky and you should be fine (add Cipro every night after lights out since Cipro degrades in light).

Good luck and keep us updated!

Thank you for the response, I will upload some pictures of before it got sick and of the hopefully healing process, do you think it is sick then even though it's only deflated once? Also since I have had it it's regained alot of zoo.

It hasnt deflated again yet and has puffed back up , i removed something from the qt and it stung me which has to be a a good sign, it was actually 5 weeks ago i bought it checking back at my tank thread .

When you first mentioned the 3 week mark, I immediately thought it was sick, based on my experience with newly imported gigs. Since it's only deflated once, it could be that it wasn't happy with something that happened in the tank (mine deflated once, and I blame the addition of too much aminos at one time). I'd keep an eye on it just in case. If you don't mind maintaining the QT tank, you can continue Cipro treatment if you like, since it doesn't seem to cause any undo stress.

Deflate once and perk back up is one thing. Deflate, released his hold and face down on the sand is bad stuff. Definitely sick in my book.
I would treat him with antibiotic, especially if you have a good QT set up. If he is the only anemone, and you don't have a good QT setup then keep him in DT is OK. Promp treatment if any problem.

Well I noticed a missing fish, which i am thinking maybeit was him, maybe it didn't sit well. He perked up after 1 hour in the qt, he hasn't deflated since. He is the only anemone now, I sold both red haddoni and theblue, i have bought 3 femininus wrasse so had to choose.
