I have a 55fowlr
0 ammonia, 0 nitrite
10ppm nitrate. Very steady
Alk is good.
I do not dose iodine but so I do a 10% weekly water change.

I just had a lobster dye after a month. Nothing was picking on him and he ate daily.

I don't run a heater as my water stays at 80 with my lid open. I have never seen it change. I don't think it swings at night but does anyone think this is a mistake.
I have been slowly raising my salinity. It is at 1.024 now coming from 1.023
2 weeks ago.
It was not a molt.
Think it was bad luck or is anything standing out as cause of death?

Where did you get him from?
I think your tank could have been too warm for him. I bet where he came from the water was around 74-76 and he tired to adapt to your tank, but over time it just got to him.

all I can say is what my good friend Johnny lives by and that is "when you stop caring about you tank and live stock they will live forever", and its so true for some dumb reason

They are tough animals to keep, and sometimes don't do well in tanks that have a lot of light. Do you have strong lights?

The only truth in this would be when you stop over adjusting anything or messing with things that do not need to be.......... I would say you still need to take care of things ( water changes, cleaning skimmer etc. )

I cant believe it. It was a moult. I just cant believe it. I have pulled many shrimp moults out of my tank. This one had color and weight to it. Today I was feeding and there he was. :hmm6:
