purple pseudo and royal gramma

Could I house a purple pseudo and a royal gramma in a 40 breeder with a smallish amount of live rock? I've always heard conflicting info on the pseudochromis and how they can be aggressive, and how they are docile. But with the similar body shape, and the fact that my tank is focused around one cave, would it be an issue?

Not a great idea, no. The pseudochromis will likely kill the royal gramma in such a small tank IMHO, since they are so similar in color.

I agree. What about a purple firefish (actually any of them) with the gramma? I have that combo in a 36 bow front and they could care less about each other.

What about a possum wrasse of some type, or a goby of some kind?
