purple rim cap

At mid level in an 18" deep tank under a 4x54 watt t5ho fixture. They were under 250watt hqi when i bought it and color has faded a little but not much and that could be because of the different kelvin rating of the bulbs and has nothing to do with the actual color of the coral.

Here is a picture of mine and I keep it in the top 1/3 of the tank under 54 watt T5's. It took a long time to colour up and is still doing so.

I think it will be fine but my take awhile to adjust. This one used to be within inches from the top under 250 watt MH in my old tank.
I like it a bit lower for viewing purposes, hard to see the colours when it is growing out of the tank.

sorry bud I've never seen a higlighter blue/purple rim cap in 25 years so its gotta be an illusion then.
It just gets confusing to people that look at threads like this and think that that can be done when its not real.

O sorry its gotta be by montior !

gasman, I have a purple rim cap like that one and the edges really do look like electric blue then purple. It seems it is an illusion, i only see it when my 20K halide is on. It's not that pretty of a cap since it's not the green with purple rim, it's the brown with purple rim, but it's got that crazy lip going on.
