Purple tang is sick, help me identify treatment please

You'll likely lose a good portion of your LR's biofilter, so pay attention to ammonia levels. I can't speak to how antibiotics perform under hyposaline conditions.

How did this end up?

Purple died after 3 weeks of painful suffering. I had all the time in the world but had no clue how to help her.

Now Vlamingi and Regal tang are infected with the same thing.

I did:

1- a 7-days treatment of nitrofurazone (Furan-2) and kanamycin (Kanaplex)
2- PraziPro treatment twice
3- HypoSalinity

Thats pretty much everything I know.

It seems I have discovered a new disease because no one seems to know what it is or how to cure it.

Here are pictures of the poor blue.

I couldnt find Formalin-MS locally, but I found Paraguard. I started dosing the QT tank with it. I will try and catch the blue today and do a freshwater dip with PraziPro (my LFS recommended it).

Petsolution sells formalin ms. 1ml per gallon of water for 45 minutes. Make sure to aerate the water during treatment

You can't get Formalin at all in Canada? As mentioned before, Petsolutions or eBay. I got some from eBay when everyone else appeared to be out.

That is very strange. That one picture of the regal shows that the 'spots' are protruding. almost looks like some kind of hookworm. It's not ich, flukes or HLLE.

It does right? It is in fact protruding. Shall I try PraziPro again? I am staying with Paraguard until the bottle finishes because I have no alternative.

I thought Paraguard is a safer alternative to formalin since that's what it says on the bottle. If it has to be formalin, I can make it happen I have a US address I can use for US-only shipments.

My red sea bannerfish broke out with same symptom and died after a week.
Before, it got worse, it looked like lympho growth at some areas.

I had it for 3 years before it broke out. No symptoms before.

The red sea bannerfish I tried before all died of the same symptom.
Nothing works: tank transfer, copper, formalin, prazi, antibiotics.

I think this is some sort of virus or mycobacteria that breaks out when they get stressed.

There was another thread where a guy had pyramid butterflies with the same symptom. Only 1 survived out of a group. The survivor lost all the spots but is probably a carrier for life. I think its titled "ich vs brook"
He tried formalin and copper and nothing worked. He then tried antibiotics and the rest died except for the one fish. I personally think the antibiotics didn't work but the fish developed immunity.

This explains a lot. I have had these guys for at least 2 years with no new additions other than excessive stress, from putting them into holding tanks until the new tank is ready.

Does that mean, I should accept that they will all die..
