purple to the nurple

Yep 50 gallon AIO with 2 haddoni = poor fish . I've been looking for this color purple haddoni for a while now and finally landed one from a friend in CA. Pics don't even do it justice, supper purple love it!. My only issue is I had to rush back to work so I pray he is still attached to the rock or bottom glass by now. Just in case I put a foam guard on my MP10.

Very nice anemone. You are a lot braver than me. I would nto put a new anemone in a tank with an established anemone of the same species unless i know that the new on is completely healthy.
Hopefully he does not turn out to be sick and get your other anemone sick too.

I don't care much for the green I actually only want the purple in this tank so I'll be moving the green haddoni when I can get him out. The purple had a gap mouth last night but it started to close up when lights when out. Green wasn't so happy the purple was next to him and shriveled up on me but I wouldn't consider it a deflate. I'll see how the purple is looking today and if she doesn't seem better I'll move her into treatment tank and possibly the green too mattering how he looks.

Wayy too early to tell if the green was infected. IME, it can take 2-3 weeks for signs of infection to appear. I'd say you're not out of the woods for a month.

Think you are missing the point. I'm saying that the fact that the green looks fine now means nothing. Just like humans, there is an incubation period and it can take up to 3-4 weeks for the anemone to show symptoms.

Ok buddy. Let's hope your hubris doesn't end badly for your animals. Proclaiming that you are in the clear a few days after introducing a sick anemone is very risky.

All I'm saying is you should watch carefully and in the future, thoroughly QT any new anemones. Trust me, I speak from experience -- I once introduced a very small blue haddoni to my 210 gal anemone tank without QT because he looked fine -- almost took down every single anemone in the tank and required weeks of treatment as each one crashed.

Addictedreefer's right. Just keep an eye on it, you may not see it go downhill for some days ahead. Hopefully time passes and it continues to look good and it's a non-issue. Nice anemone's. I'm looking forward to some pics of that purple!

I used cipro only and was dosing 250mg per 10 gallons.

Looks good so far. I haven't seen many purple haddoni. Seems red haddoni are more common. Nice find.
