I will not bore you in telling stories how we start making reefs back then, but it seems theres isnt much new under the sun.

Imay be optimistic ,but i will try go back to this oldschool stuff we use to made.

cannisterfilter.no skimmer(too expensive) at no water changes, the water is crappy anyway...

i remember how we fed this tanks...oh ohoh that was,,,what can i say..?
not like too day, buing bacteria on a can.......

im deffentliy no expert, neigther in biologi, chemistry or anything like that,,(i use to skate in school, missing a lot "dont think for yourself)

just have to take a breath ..sorry guys I really miss it

greetings from denmark

Are you drunk?? I feel like I'm reading a foreign language.

Please practice some simple sentence structure, and use your punctuations correctly.

What the man said was fairly clear. He is not drunk scaryperson27. HE IS FROM DENMARK.

Do you speak Danish scaryperson27? I doubt you could utter a word in HIS language. Thatwould mean that you would have no chance at even trying to get punctuation, sentance structure and spelling correct. You may also want to check YOUR sentance structure!

Good grief.

Ha ha.. okay. I didn't catch that he was from Denmark, but you have to admit that every time you read someones response, and end up growing a brain tumor trying to understand what they uttered out of their mouth, you get a little agitated.

I'm no role model when it comes to sentence structure or punctuation, infact I used to speak and type to that level of illiteracy, but then I decided that I didn't want a job mixing concrete.

BTW I also took the liberty of highlighting your mistakes...

I am not sure what is more ignorant; Your remarks, your defence of those remarks, or the fact that you think that those remarks were funny. I certainly do not see any apology in your post...

Are all of the folks who "mix concrete" illiterate morons? Are they somehow beneath you?

Feel free to highlight any of my mistakes, I make plenty. I only pointed out that stepping off of that high horse may allow you to see that you are no better than the rest of us. It is obvious that you missed that point in your haste to defend your remarks. The best part is that you have again commited errors in your sentance structure and are still pointing out the faults of others.

Why would we admit to being agitated when we are not? You certainly need to gain some perspective.

Oh no... I'm not doing this again with you.

You have way too much time on your hands. It does seem that every time I say anything controversial on this forum, you're there to capitalize on it and surgically diagnose everything I say.

I never said I was perfect nor was I trying to be comical. What if I typed like a Ape dung eating/throwing retard? Then what? Does that have any bearing on how he types. No it doesn't.

I'm sure there are people that mix concrete that can beet Stephen Hawking in a game of wits because it most defiantly does take the most prestigious person to get that job of pure elegance.

My heads going to explode if I try to make a response as complete as yours. It's a waist of time. I refuse to try to respond to your post as you do mine. Keep awaiting that apology. I already said that I didn't see that the guy was from Denmark. Thats an informal apology in case you didn't catch that.

Have fun dissecting everything i said again. You'll be waisting your time. I don't plan on reading it. If I'm haste, I don't care. Some guy in Pittsburgh trying to argue with me doesn't really influence my comfort of life.

I thought Pora's post was kind of refreshing after hearing the same old sh!t over and over. It reads more like poetry and causes you to have to actually think about whats being read.

 Cheers to the nonconformists.

The bottom line:

I am not here to capitalize on anything. I frequent the DIY, Equipment and Advanced forums. It is not hard to notice your outwardly obtuse comments. You have, several times, lambasted people for spelling, punctuation and sentence structure. The irony is that yours is not much better.

You have a habit of saying very rude things to people who have done nothing to you. I don't want or need the apology. You owe the apology to the OP and the other people who you have attacked.

Let me translate what the OP said:

[SIC]: I am quite new to Reef Central but not to reefing.
I will not bore you telling stories about how we used to setup reef systems years ago, but things have not really changed all that much even though there are a lot of new products and fads.

I may have an optimistic plan! I am going to try and set up a tank the way we used to do it. I will be using a canister filter because skimmers are too expensive. I will also not be doing water changes. Our water is pretty crappy anyway.

I remember how we used to setup and cycle the tanks. We did not use bacteria from a can or other methods to force bacterial colonization. We let it occur naturaly.

I am defiantly not an expert, nor am I a biologist or chemist. I used to ride a skateboard and not pay much attention to science. However, this is not rocket science and the old methods appear to work very well so I am going to give it a try.

Anyway, I miss being in the reefing hobby and look forward to jumping back in with my new found friends at Reef Central.

Greetings from Denmark

Then you come along and pop the guys balloon because he speaks broken english. Smooth move man!

In other words, lets stop the discussion on grammar and get back to reefkeeping. It's also good to remember that we have an international crowd here, and not all are from English speaking countries.

Hello Pora! Happy to hear a perspective on old school reefing from a Denmark perspective doesn't differ much from ours. I go back to the day I walked into my first salt water fish store, instantly fell in love with the creatures and said to the owner "I want to keep such and such... tell me what I need to make this happen." Bioballs and canister filters were lord of the reef here back then. :D

Some things don't change though. For instance the sheeple who follow every trend only to find they've been taken for a ride to the reef abysse. I feel like you though. What is new under the sun? I've been away from RC for some months. When I came back I was hoping to discover something substantial in the way of advancements. I've read and read through various threads and it all just seems to be ramblings of old ideas maybe with the slightest variation. I'm ready for some real advancement which doesn't entail some new hyped toy!

We're now to be convinced our nutrient poor systems need such things as amino acids and vaguely understood proprietary additives (if not outright sugar water). If our systems are really nutrient poor then why not just feed more? These are some of the things which run through my mind as I read the same redundant regurgitated stuff over and over again. I'd subscribe to some fancy coral magazine, but I half suspect all that will be said will be much the same just stated more eloquently. I really hope all reefers are like me and are growing restless and someone will lay an egg that hatches a new age in reef keeping.
