Hey all,

anyone have success using the inverted mouth bottle trap? If so what bait did you use?

I am trying 1/2 a block of Mysis shrimp for tonight. I figured that they smell so potent out of the water maybe they will find it. My trap for tonight is an inverted top 2 liter bottle outside the cave of my largest known gorilla crab However there is a section of the sand underneath my largest rock that is looking very much like Mantis work (humped mound around a tunnel so maybe tomorrow night I will point the trap at that burrow.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also if anyone has one of those Xterminator traps in the Seattle area that would be willing to lend or rent it to me, please let me know.

Okay Mysis shrimp were stupid. Current sucked them all out. Any ideas for larger bait that they would like? Piece of raw fish? Anyone?

Most stomatopods that you might have in your tank are diurnal and won't be feeding at night. They will be active at first flight and again just before lights out. Don't wast your time or water quality baiting at night.

Mine like shrimp (like the uncooked kind you get at the supermarket). Good luck - when using traps like that I caught everything but my mantis (which ended up needing more active methods to relocate).
