PVC glue

All cement is fine to use. I have also found that to be true with paint. Once it dries, its just a pigment.

Its all safe once it drys, remember that you will want to buy the pvc cleaner, so you can clean it before you put the glue on. And if you care about looks, you can buy clear pvc glue instead of the purple looking stuff, but I think its more expensive.

I've used the Green bottle and Blue bottle of Oatey with no issues...have also used the purple primer.....no problems.

Give your pipes a twist when put them together to break up any missed spots or air bubbles when glueing.

Wow thanks for the responses. I had a good feeling it would be inert once dried. I had a employee at home depot say it may be toxic. I new it was toxic at a liquid form but not when dried just wanted another opinion.

Thanks again

You probably want to flush it with fresh water once it's set up.
Just remember that there different kinds of cement. You would use something different if you were cementing PVC flex hose into PVC fittings than if it were 2 PVC fittings being joined.
