Any good clues on how to get my rocks to turn purple?

Ca+ 450 dKH 8-11 plus light.

I"ll keep working on getting the Ca up then. I think my DKhh is to high also.. hopefully that'll be fixed with a water change.

Adding aqueous calcium chloride (the Ca addition in your 2 part) will bring alk down gradually. It's kind of a yin/yang kind of thing. As one rises the other falls, and vice versa.

Gotcha.

Another update. my YWG has been out and exploring.. I coulght him well out of his cave a couple times today. I hope to get a Tiger Pistol Shrimp to pair up with him and dig around..
I hope in the next week or two to get another fish.. it epends when all this new snow we got today melts.

Alright so one of two things happened today.
1.) My Shrimp molted and his old exoskeleton is trapped in the rocks -or-
2.) The carcus of the shrimp that died in my tank and I couldn't retrieve foated out from under some rocks and is now stuck in some new rocks..

it looks to me like the first option...

In other news my YWG now hangs out in the same cave as my Pepperment Shrimp does.. did they bond?
I hope not:)( I want him to bond with my Tiger piston when I'm able to get him!
Refractometer should come in tomorrow so I can finally do a water change!

Another shot of the tank..

I haven't been able to take a good pictures of the frogspawn with the moon lights on, but he looks awesome.

Got my refractometer today, it is insanly cool!
I am glad I waited unti it came before I got my water change, my Hyrometer said the water change I was gonng use was at 1.025 My refractometer said 1.040
Holy helll

Anyway, gonna add some more distilled water to my water change and dilute it some!

Alright, so i've brought my water change down to where I want it 1.025
Right now the water in my tank is right between 1.022 and 1.023 so i'm gonna try to bring my tank salinity up of the rest of the day to 1.025
my LFS keeps there salinity there so I probably should as well.

Did a two gallon water change and did a test afterwards

Nitrate 0
Nitrite 9
Ammonia 0
Ph 8.2
Kh 125.3
Phos .25 ** I didn't dry the tube this came in too welll. I think the kit may have picked up some tap water..
Salinity 1.25 (just a hair over on the refractometer)
CA 400
Finally \o/
I added another 5ml.. I wanna get those purple rocks.

Some concerns:
Would a Frogspawn rubbing against rocks damage it? (picture below)
What can I do to bring that KH down?

the black spots are the forgspawn damage

Just keep adding the calcium, the kH will come down on it's own. The frogspawn will b fine. The black spots are just where the polyps have contracted a bit, and the tissue is concentrated at those points.

The clownfish r probably trying to host in it. In a smaller colony this can be a problem. Too, much fish per sq inch of available space (ie frogspawn).

Well, I moved my frogspawn to the other side of the tank where natural light comes in, opened up the shades and turned on all the lights..
I think he was someones dinner :(

there are a couple of very tiny heads in there..

Take a look at it and tell me what you think..
I may just take the shrimp out anyway..

I have a pistol shrimp on order (if my LFS can get him) and I want a Fire Shrimp, is three a crowd in 29 gallons?
