Pylons Tank!

yeah, More upsetting is I reached in to grab him and knocked over my rock...
I'll try to get pictures of how it looks up in a little bit.. but I don't like how it looks at all.

Well it looked great before. You had some real nice looking rock formations. I will look for the new pics when you post them.

There is is.. it's not pretty but it's gonna stay that way for a while.. I"ll print out some old pictures and try to get it to the way I had it orginally..

The only thing I like about this formation is I see more places to put coral.

Something is up.. two of my hermits ditched their shells.. I don't see any movement so I think they may have died.. I'm taking my water in for testing now..

Well everything testeted fine except for the salinity.
My Hydrometer reads my water at 1.022.. the LFS hydrometer reads it at 1.019
the LFS thinks that may be the problem, plus my LFS told me they normally keep their water around 1.025, so the big drop could have done it..

I'll be adding about1/4 of salt every hours until it comes up
I have two Hydrometers.. I'll use both of them to check and see what I got.

Funny.. I took out my old Hydrometer that has a bad seam and it seems to be on par with the fish stores.. I just have to leave this one in the tank so I don't get water all over the place

Everyone in my tank looks very happy now.. the new turbos are out and eating.. the hermits that survived are up and around now..

So, I just got back from My LFS.
Water tested out ok so I got a few more friends
third time is the charm on the pepermint Shrimp
Got a few more hermits
Couple more Turbos
The big news is I got my first fish..

He's a Yellow Watchman Goby..
He's still a little guy.. but I hope to get a shrimp that he'll bond with in the up coming weeks.

Pictures will come soon when I am done acclimating.

Glad to here you got all your water parameters right. Good luck with the first fish.

I finally got my tank started. This will be my first saltwater tank but i have been doing freshwater for a while now. I have started the process of cycling so it is just time now.

FYI... It is a 55gallon with 25lbs live rock and 40lbs live sand.

When the time comes, I am definitely going to get a yellow watchman goby and pistol shrimp pair. Cant wait.

Oh I forgot. When you get a minute, I would love to see a picture of the Watchman Goby.

I just tried to get pictures of him.. When I put him in the tank he hung out in site for a few minutes then took off.. I assume he's hiding under the rocks where I can't see him.

Ahh right on.. well I just took 90% of my rock out looking for him, he's not to be found..
I check filtration and the ground and he's not to be seen.. I think he found a little crack in one of the rocks that I can't take out (I put it in first and then pourd the sand it.. I knew I would have burrowing shrimp)

Oh, btw I rearranged the rock again.. this way still isn't my fav but it looks nicer then the previous set up.. I'll have pics when the water clears.

If you have deep enough sand bed he probably dug him self a little hole under the sand and is hiding out there. He will hopefully show back up soon.

I do have a deep sand bed because I was hoping to pair him with a tiger pistol.. the LFS couldn't get ahold of any so I just got him..

I hope he's just hiding a rock.. I put food in last night I hope he finds some of it..

There was a sighting about 5 minutes ago!
When I saw it I ran to the fridge to get some food for it, when I came back he was gone.. I put some food in cose to where I last saw him...

I think i'm gonna call it Nessie.
