i found about 3 pyram. snail on the side of my squamosa tonight and see one one the side of my deresa. should i worry about them killing my clams, or have i gotten rid of the problem before it got bad. o and by the way i just got the clams today so igot the snails off the squa tonight and will remove the other tomarrow.

Take them out and scrub every inch of their shells with a toothbrush. Those snails can reproduce faster than rats and can certainly kill your clams.

Clean them thoroughly to make sure you uget rid of any eggs and then check them repeatedly for the next few weeks to make sure you didn't miss anything.

I lost all my clams to these bastards. Here's a pic I took of the snails. Whats crazy is I got rid of them for 6-8 weeks and all the sudden they were back without adding anything new.

Per Dr Ron, there are some species that feed only on clams and others that feed only on snails.

Hopefully, even though yours are on the clams, they won't feed on them.

Best of luck,

Roy

i have them on my astreas....so they wont bother clams if i get one???ive been afraid to get a clam till i can get rid of them

You won't know until you try. But, chances are since you previous didn't have clams in your tank, you only have the ones that prey on snails.

Best of luck,

Roy

This thread discusses how these parasites are very species specific. Thus, ones that attack snails should not attack clams.

Best of luck,

Roy
