Q on adding tangs...

I had my purple tang first for about 2 years, added the Achilles without any problems....tried adding a naso, achilles had it almost dead and stuck to the Vortech within 10 minutes :-( Had to put the naso in another tank. Have since tried to add a few wrasses and the achilles will chase them as well....

i would for sure add the achilles last i to made the mistake of adding my achilles first after him i added a black tang & a yellow tang it's been 5 months & he still goes after them 2 & everyone else in the tank including a moorish idol that never bothers him i have owned sohals & triggers in the past but the achilles is by far & i mean by far the most aggressive fish i ever owned good luck with your decision

We'll have to agree to disagree with that... The achilles I have now is the most aggressive tang i've ever had, tried once to add another fish and will never try again after he almost killed it in 10 minutes. Also, years ago when I was in charge of some of the reef exhibits in Baltimore we would never add tangs after an achilles or sohal because of the aggression.

I agree. My husband tried adding a purple tang after having an established achilles and the purple lasted approximately one day. :(
Achilles has been the most aggressive tang we have kept. Never had a sohal though.

In a 180 that Achilles will be really aggressive. But you never know, there is certainly personalities that are outside the norm.

I wouldn't add a Achilles to anything smaller than a 220g and be sure to have a ton of flow in the tank, like a couple MP60s or something that will push at least 12-15kgph maybe even more than that. They live in very torrent water in the wild. Just my opinion, hope that whatever road you go down you have success

Do you think it will be a issue adding a Purple before or after the Naso then?

As for flow i have 3 MP40s on full, there is alooooot of flow in the tank.
