QT tank for AEFW...input please

Well I thought I'd finally update with pics. Overall, the AEFW adventure SUCKED! :( Between losing stuff to them, and then to the QT, and then to reacclimation to the main display, I lost probably 60%+. BTW, anyone who tells you it's easy to set up a QT for acros for the first time is LYING!! :p Water chemistry changes at the drop of a hat, even with 60g to work with.

Anyways, some success stories:

My oregon tort:

Some of my blue/green vermiculata/tenuis? I saved several chunks....

My two biggest colonies. The green stag turned white after going from QT (2 - T5's) back to MH. It has taken a while, but all the green is almost back....

And another large colony. Two pieces of it, one is still adjusting color:

Also saved my blue tip stag, ORA green mille, ORA turqouise stag, ORA german green with purple polyps (yay!), ORA Infdo purple stag, large blue gomezi...and a few others....

My beloved red table, again from Dr. Mac....

I lost every single tricolor, so I got a new Graf Bonsai:

And another unknown (austera?):

What's funny is seeing all my old LPS, so full and grown-in, next to all these newbie SPS :o Hopefully they'll catch up :)

Anyway, FTS's (sorry for all the LPS :p ):

Peter- I am glad you updated this thread. It is not a fun process and its definitely not fun throwing away corals taht you have grown out from frags. Saying that, I would rather lose a couple corals rather than breeding AEFW.

Glad you made it through Peter! Sorry about your losses. Its odd you had trouble with that water volume. Not bragging in any way, but my experience with my little 10gal doing weekly WCs from my display was a piece of cake to keep. But in the end at least you were able to kick the little buggers!!

Water changes on a small tank very often are MUCH easier than on a 60g, unfortunately. That, coupled with my business and laziness, did not work for me :( :o Glad it worked for you :) . I too would recommend a smaller QT to anyone, if they can get away with it, from a physical space standpoint.

Glad to see you on the road to recovery Peter:)

I too feel your pain.

The tank still looks very nice.
