Question about AquaC Urchin in sump.

I just switched tanks over this last weekend and installed a sump with a AquaC Urchin in-sump skimmer. My question is why is it producing so much foam to where it fills the collection cup with semi-cloudy water after about only 2-3hours. I have the cup positioned so that its as high as it can go, so is there a problem? Or does it take a while to break in or what?

did you also put in a new sand bed in your tank?

yes all new substrate

your skimmer is just taking out the ultra small sand grains and dirty stuff from the sand. Give it a few days and your skimmer will be back to normal. If you want your sand to settle faster next time, rinse out the sand first.
