Hello everyone

Have any of you every used or know about which is the best method to bond lr together. I read a few threads here and some say drilling with plastic rods other say quikrete hydraulic water stop cement and I've also heard of using insolation foam . What are your thoughts

Thank you

Quick Crete created many problem with alk in my old tank. would not recommend it after letting the final rock fixture cure in water outside for almost 2 months I still had alk and ph spikes..... leading to a tank teardown once everything started dying.

The two part epoxies that look like a tootsie roll work quite well. The hardware store version is fine, though grey in color. LFS sell pink version that blends in with coraline algae for the aquarium trade.

Jb weld has a water version i have used this in the past. I use fiberglass dowels (driveway markers) cut to length. I epoxy the bottom piece but leave the top loose as I have had to remove all fish due to ich in the past and this allows me to remove pieces of rock as fequired.

Sorry to hijack the thread. Is there something that will hold, but not quite as strong? I have never glued my rocks together. I always make sure that they rest on each other without the chance of them moving very easily.

This time I am going to buy some branching tonga rock and I will probably want to use something to hold them together. I want something that I will be able to get the rock apart later without breaking it. Is there something or do I need to use a lot less?
