I've read alot about fishes and have a pretty good idea of what im doing but I really want a second tang and I am interested in hearing everyones oppinion on this. Right now I have a 120 display 55 sump so approx 140 total volume accounting for displacement. stock list as follows...

Pair Black Ocellaris
2 Lawnmower blennies
2 blue/green chromis
1 coral beauty
1 powder brown

In the future I intend to get two or three more chromis and a spotted mandarin currently that is my stop line for fish but as I suggested I really really want another tang a few in consideration are

White cheek top choice
powder blue second choice
yellow tang " "
Kole Yellow eye " "
or A Lieutenant " "

These are just ones I like and I dont intend to stock all of them just one out of the list Actually I dont intend on getting any unless it will be happy healthy with the other tank mates I have now, Thank you in advance for any and all input. :fish1: :fish2:

You cant do a powder brown with powder blue. You should be good with any of the others

well not really..two tangs you are always rolling the dice, especially when one already calls the tank..his turf..

But as a rule you should not mix two tanks of the same genus..

Skip the powder blue and white cheek (Nigricans, right). You may be able to do a yellow or kole because they're different body shapes. Similar tangs will generally fight more than non-similar tangs.

I've really gotta get down to Bristol and see your tank again.

Thank you roc, todd. Has anyone had any good/bad experience doing this? I am in no rush and want as much feed back as possible. Also I have narrowed the questin down to just the Kole Tang.

Thanks Joe and yes you do I moved some of the rock work and corals a little to give the brown more meandering room I would post pics but everytime I try uploading to photobucket or any place ie... facebook etc my computer crashes and restarts so ive pretty much given up. How is your tank holding up? im ready to do a frag of validia and the birdsnest of course

Doing well. My frogspawn that didn't die is splitting into 3 heads I think. Zoas and everything is growing. I'll take a frag of that valida sometime. I'm in no rush for anything. Trying to take it slow.

I was actually thinking of a kole tang for my next fish. They certainly are beautiful.

I would wait a while before any additions as well, its hard though when you see something you want.:bounce2:

I have a 220 tank and I have a Pacific Blue, Yellow and Purple tang. They all get along great. Other fish include a Foxface, Flame Angel, 2 Ocellaris Clowns, 6 line Wrasse, Lawnmower Blenny, 2 Spotted Cardinals, and a Dragon Goby. Just make sure what ever you get, that they are about the same size. Another thought is you might have to rearrange your aqua-scape a bit.

I have a 135 with a Powder Blue, Blue Hippo and Yellow Tang. When I added the fish they were always slightly bigger than the ones I already had and a bit different shape. I also moved a few rocks around to confuse the ones already in my aquarium. Hope that helps.

I have 120 with powder blue and purple tang no problems . I had a scopos with powder blue first they got along great then . I got the purple tang he hated the scopos so he had to go.

I do have two blennies and they seem to get along fine I dont ever see them together and I suspect one is male and the other female although they were not purchased as a pair. One is signifigantly larger and bears the traditional Salarias fasciatus colorations ie... light tan/cream with darker vertical markings that get darker towards the back end and blue spots around the head, the other is a pretty solid brown color without the blue dots and well really doesnt look like the other at all except the head and face but I have read that there are variations and they dont all have the same colorations/patterns which too could be a reason why they dont bother each other

Thank You to everyone so far for the responses I actually got answers I didnt expect.Well except for no White Cheek :sad1: I would still like to hear from more people on experiences with multiple tangs good/bad.

I have a yellow tang and a regal in a 150....they actually fallow each other around but never show aggression. The regal is twice the size of the yellow tang though.

Experiences: I've seen zebrasoma tear each other up (yellow and purple),thankfully not in my tank. I've kept a purple Zebrasomma and a Regal for over 7yrs in a 90 gallon with no aggression at all.
