Question about MSDS reports

I asked about Damp Rid as a calcium chloride suppliment in another thread. Randy said that the brand may have other ingreadiants we dont want in our tanks. I checked the MSDS papers on it and it lists only calcium , sodium and Potassium chlorides in the product. Does this mean there are no other possible additives ? I would think that the sheet would have to list everything as it is for life saftey. Anythoughts ? .........Not trying to beat a dead horse on Damp Rid here , just have to track MSDS paper work for my job and it looked it up as a curiosity.

There's no way to tell from a typical MSDS what contaminants might be in the product. Zinc and copper are toxic in very low quantities, for example.

That ingredient list on the MSDS does tell everything that is deliberately added. What it doesn't tell you is the purity of the ingredients.

Ok Jonathan thanks and sorry I think you may have answered my first post about the Damp Rid product. I have been reading too many of Randy's articles today. Need to get back to work.

It also isn't true that companies have to list all the ingredients. If I had to do that I'd go out of business quick. You can be quite deceptive about how you list things as well and still remain within the law.
