question on gen-X pumps

can anyone tell me the difference in

pcx-100 and the pcx-70

the 70 does 1537gal
the 100 1550gal

the 70 has max head of 31.8
the 100 has 29

the 70 only pulls 180watts
the 100 pulls 360 watts

heres the kicker....
70=$152.99$
100=$244.99$
is there something that i dont know??...everything is close but the power draw and cost....any help would be great...thz...rich

It sounds like the 100 is run under a load (pressure) and the 70 is a free flow

For that price you could run a mag 36 152.99

its a external pump...the 100 and the 70 are both pressure...but it says teh 70 is high pressure and new....rich

I am running the 40 and just to let you know they are not the quietest pump in the world. They are fan cooled and the fan is noisy. Other than that it is an awesome pump for the money, especially since I needed something with 3/4 in and out.

Rich, the motor speed of the 70HP is 3200, the 100 is 3000rpm. Othere than that I could not see any differences either. Both pumps are rated to be comparable to the Iwaki 70RLT, so it appears they found a more efficient pump to replace the 100. I would not be surprised if they stop making it.

Both pumps are 1" in/out too, I thought for sure this would be the differnce in the pumps, not!
