I was Spec Ops for about 7 yrs in the early 90s and you guys saved me more than once.
Lt. Col. Alex Carapeti, Retired
My new C.O. is my wife now. Thank you guys for all your knowledge of Reefs. Keeping a reef tank (or attempting to keep one) has been very therapeutic for me.
Thanks for your services to our country. I have a son in the Marines.
Don't shoot the messenger, special ops at that. :hmm4:
This was sent to me (with a photo) from a relative that is an Armory Lt. Colonel while sitting in one of Saddam Hussein's palaces after the 2nd Iraq invasion, smoking one of Saddam's cigars with his feet propped up on an expensive desk.

"A young second lieutenant approached the crusty old first sergeant and asked him about the origin of the commissioned officer insignias.
"Well, LT, it's history and tradition. First, we give you a gold bar representing that you're valuable BUT malleable. The silver bar of a first lieutenant represents value, but less malleable. When you make captain, you're twice as valuable so we give you two silver bars.
"As a colonel, you soar over military masses, hence the eagle. As a general, you're obviously a star. That answer your question, LT?"
"Yeah, but what about major and lieutenant colonel?"
"Now, son, that goes waaaaaay back in history. Back to the Garden of Eden even. You see, we've always covered our p****s with leaves . . ."

Ya gotta love his sense of humor.
