Question on Tunze Nano?

I have had the skimmer up and running for a week. The water level is stable and is approx 1/4" below the tide mark on the skimmer. The problem is that the skimmer constantly overflows even with the Venturi screw completely closed. I don't have anything in the tank except sand and 5# of rock rubble in the fuge with absolutlely no decay or visible life on it.

Why would the skimmer cup constantly fill with water?

I'am due to pick up my live rock next week so I want to get it working correctly. Thanks for any info/advice.

Did you put in the new venturi I sent? Also double check that the airline is connected to the nipple under the top plate, without this being connected the screw is not regulating anything. If that all checks out let me know and we'll take it from there.

I have not received the Venturi yet, got the magnet holder which I put on last night (nice). I took off the bottom plate, made sure the air tubing was connected top and bottom with no kinks. Still get plenty of foam which overflows the cup, venturi adjustment seems to have no effect.

The venturi was in the same box? We sent them together, double check the box.

Its unfortunately gone with the trash, did not see it , sorry. I'll order one if you think that is the problem.

It may be part of the problem, just to be clear though, with the venturi fully closed the skimmer still overflows? It sounds like the screw is too loose fitting if that is the case, I can send one and for the time being you could test this by wrapping a single layer of teflon tape on the screw.

Ok, I've wrapped the screw with teflon tape. Rechecked that the tubing is connected top and bottom and it is. Also the water level is stable at 1/4 or so inches below the tide mark.

Absolutely no change, the cup filled within 5 minutes.

Did you add anything to your water, like a stress coat or dechlorinator? We will get this resolved, just bare with me as I try to figure out why this is happening so we can get it properly taken care of.

Nothing has been added to the tank, it is a new set-up so there is only saltwater, sand and 5# rubble with absolutely nothing on it in the fuge nothing has been added except some ESV 2part approx one week ago. I will be getting 25# live rock next Saturday so I'am trying to get the skimmer working correctly before then. I went through the trash with all the packing material and could not locate the Venturi
