Questions about this glassholes overflow...

How quiet is it when its setup like shown in the video? How do most people run them? Do you use a ball valve on one drain to make it quiet, and let the excess run down the other open line?

I am going with custom PVC coast to coast overflow. cheap and easy.

I have it mounted in the center of my back glass and it makes less noise than the standard overflow with u-tube I have on my 55g running at 300gph.
Really smooth overflow IMO. Its very thin and cast no shadows into the tank like my other overflow.
I have never seen the coast to coast in action but they look very nice also. I am just not a fan of having an overflow all the way across my tank. To each his own and whatever works for you.
If there where just one way to build SW aquariums there would be no need for this forum!!

Thanks for all the input guys. I really like the looks of these slim overflows, so i am going with them...i am just trying to find a quiet/safe way to drain it. Im thinking i might be able to use the "silent & failsafe" overflow design if i get the largest overflow they make.

Anyone do this?
