Hello all - have a some questions for the anemone experts.
Question #1 - Tank upgrade question - currently have a 72 gal bow front which has been up for about 14 years. It is a stable system based on the simple sump skimmer and live rock set up. We are upgrading this system to a 120 gal rimless system which is to be anemone specific. Currently we have the pink sand on the bottom but find it blows around to easy and would like to change it to the reef floor special grade when changing tanks. First question: when we make the change and move over the water and live rock with the new reef floor special sand to the new tank, do you think we have the wait for the tank to mature again or will we be ok to add once the system stabilizes itself?
Question #2 (3&4) - Equipment question - here is a list of the new equipment that will be used on the new 120 gal rimless tank:
Vertex Omega 150 Skimmer
Ruby Red 36S Trigger system sump w/ refugium
Reef Life Support Systems Waveline 6000 DC return pump Gen 2
Dual Chamber GFO
Apex Gold system
2 (maybe 3) AI Hydra's
Marineland LED light for refugium
2 EchoTech wireless MP40s
Auto top off system - TBD
Water Change System - same as on the current tank - self made with water tanks w/Blueline 70 pump for mixing and pumping in new water.
Do you think the equipment is good enough and complete? Are we missing anything? any suggestions on changes or upgrades to the equipment list? All of you input and suggestions are appreciated.
