oh really ok....thanks....yea im new to this ref and skimmer thing so i was just checking it out

thanks ERIC good to see you back BTW!!!

I think mini bubblekings are due out in the US soon, you would be little Don with one of those for sure.
It'd be the ballinest 12 ever

Thanks. :D LMK if I can help ya out. The Sapphire skimmer is getting good reviews and it's built to fit into the NC12. :D Is your 12 a NC or another brand?

where do i find those chris???

eric- you going to pay for half of that skimmer???? LOL!!

also a refug.....yes that would be a great idea for you to build one for me!!! just a little one!!! can you PM me with the cost and the diminsion you would go with?? this would be for a AP 12

could it be hang on?? yes? no? just thought i would ask..

Dude, don't waste your coin on a skimmer. Do weekly water changes. You don't have a huge bio load to need to skim. Save the coin on corals.

alright cool thanks murf???

that was a thought in my mind......still need a refug though right???

i need one or the other right??? i mean i dont NEED.....but it would be nice!!!right??

I don't know the dimensions of the AP 12 so I can't tell you what I'd recommend building nor do I know your setup, but we can get together some time and figure out what could work best for your tank. I think a HOB would be the best idea...

Really, if you do water changes, you don't need anything other than Live Rock. If you do them often enough, you really don't even need that. LOL!!!

I didn't know any reef tank didn't need a skimmer, I have always ran them on all my s/w tanks, at what point do you think they are needed? when you have more than a fish or 2? or is there a gallon amount where it seems appropriate?

Come to think of it Scotts reef doesn't have one I think and his SPS look great, but he has very few fish, and pulls a lot of water out when selling corals.

Macro algaes are great for reducing Nitrates which Kevin is struggling with, but I think he needs to ID the source of Nitrates rather then try to find a way to export them. Kevin you mentioned you were going WC every 3-4 days right? How large? If they are significant water changes that often and you still have nitrates of 20-30 you need to start removing/replacing some stuff. Can you describe your filtration system completely? What livestock do you have?
