I'm designing a fish room and want to mount the power supplies on the wall, What is the safe distance between each power supply to allow for adequate cooling?
This question was mostly for ecotech support, I looked through the provided literature and don't seem to find any information, which leads me to believe that it isn't that much of an issue.
However, I would like confirmation of this before I commit to bolting them down.
I've stacked them in a pile 3 tall without issues. They probably last longer spread out, but I doubt it's a huge issue or they would have specified. I assume you are talking the black brick version vs. the older white ones?
I had 4 of them less than 1" apart in a corner stacked between a wall and the end of the tank. This is the large white ones.
This was for more than 5 years.
I never really thought about air flow around them, but looks like they don't need much.
Based on what I've found inside the white supplies I'd say that as long as you don't seal the holes in the ends you can put them about as close together as you want. Honestly even then it might not be the end of the world, but no need to push your luck.
