Quietest Pump Available to Replace Iwaki 70

I have probably installed 20 Iwaki pumps over the years and most are very quiet, but I am on a bad streak with these last 3 I bought. They are all the Japanese Motor....

I have two new Iwaki MD70RLXT's and a 30RLXT that are way noisier than they should be. Any tips to make them quieter or any good suggestions for replacement pumps, preferably that have the same 1" plumbing, that are really quiet?????? They are sitting on good quality foam rubber so I think it's motor noise, not vibration noise....

Thanks in Advance!

Man your electric bill must be over 300 a month with those pumps, If you are looking to get allot of flow and can live with a pump that does 21'max head pressure instead of 31' I would try a Sweetwater 2.2 and just use reducers to go from 2" to 1" or use one pump to replace both your pumps. At 5' head it will push 60 gal per min and use only 240watts. I use them on my out door system in Costa Mesa.
stop by some time and i can show you what they look like and how Quiet they are.

good luck

Thanks Steve! The iwaki's definitely aren't the most efficient pumps, but they are real work horses and they are very reliable, but the noise has me very frustrated! I also have a Sequence Dart on my closed loop because I had heard such great things about how quiet they are.... not really so far in my experience unfortunately.

May be time to try a sweetwater....

Thanks again

I saw a post in the DIY forum. He removed the fan and installed a computer heatsink and fan on the back. He said it made them alot quieter.

My 40 and my 55 do have fans.
The 40 has a plastic fan and the 55 has an aluminum fan.
Both japanese motors.
