After seeming these last two pictures I'm not sure what it is? Look very similar to a Quoyi but the orange behind the eye and lack of green/blue lines behind the mouth makes me think it's something else... Maybe it's a hybrid parrot of some kind? That would be sweet

Hmmm, it may actually be a juvi bowseri... just doesn't have the orange triangle yet?

Facial markings don't look right... My guess would have been a young Chlorurus spilurus, but I don't know.

If the fish is still available next week I'm going to ask for a updated picture and see if coloring has changed at all or is more profound. I really would like another parrot

Has anyone tried feeding with Reef Nutrition's Fuzzy-Phytes or Macro-Feast(Gracilaria pacifica)?

My S. rivulatus made some progress, he suddenly started biting/scraping the glass and rocks for algae last night for an hour, but there is nowhere close to enough algae to keep him alive. It was the first time I really saw him make a sustained effort to eat. It has been 30 days now. So far I've tried NLS 1mm, 2mm, ON Formula 1, Rods Food, nori, frozen mysis, frozen brine.

To give him more 'peace of mind', I've removed all tangs/angles/etc leaving only 3 bartlett anthias, 2 purple tilefish, 1 goldspot rabbit fish, a tiny Fantail Orange Filefish, and a harlequin tusk. This is in a 200G tank. The only social interactions I've seen with the remaining fish are a couple times the S. rivulatus gave a quick chase to the tusk, and the rabbitfish often follows him around kind of a temporary schooling behavior.

I haven't tried this since mine ate pellets from the start and ate nori soon after. The rabbitfish behavior is similar to what my foxface would do with my Quoyi and still does... When my melenarus was picking on my parrot the foxface would chase the wrasse away like he was protecting the parrot... Kind of strange behavior but it was welcomed by me

Fortunately mine never had a problem eating, so I can only say keep trying anything and everything. Good luck! Keep us posted.

Sitting here at my desk I've been looking at my quoyi all morning. I have to admit, he looks smaller  Basically many of my other fish have just gotten bigger. He has not. I'm a bit surprised, though I'm not sure why, since there really isn't that much info on parrots in aquariums.

I never really notice any of my fish growing but every time someone comes over and sees my fish after some time they are like "wow your fish are huge" On a side note I actually think my Quoyi has grown since I put all my fish in QT, which dumbfounds me since I feed so much less than I use to when they were all in the DT
