Quoyi parrotfish reef safe?

So I have located a 6" Quoyi and will be pulling the trigger and not sleeping on this one since 4 months ago I missed out and have been waiting ever since. I know there have been some on DD but I didn't want to spend the 200$ If all goes to plan I will be updating with some pics on Tuesday. Those of you who have one what kind of algae food do you feed yours?

Mine gets hikari seaweed extreme sinking pellets, lots of sheet algae (ocean nutrition or Julian Sprung), spirulina pellets, and lately I've been trying out the New Era grazers. He loves all of it! I agree with SDguy he's still quite carnivorous. Loves mysis, clam, krill, squid, spectrum pellets, Rogger's, Rod's, and formula 1&2 flakes. You can probably tell by my list I haven't found anything he won't eat yet.

Total showoff :D

You should be! This is probably my favorite fish... he's incredibly colorful and active, I really can't stress the active part enough. Definitely a fish for 200 gallons +.

I think mine has put on weight since I got him. He eats everything, is totally passive with his tankmates, and has been a model reef citizen.

Daaaaang! That fish is a stud REA. Stunner!

Mine is smaller than everyone elses at only 4" or so but it is by far the most active fish in the tank.

Hey thanks! :D they have great personalities too, don't they? Mine can be a little clumsy with his beak and eager to get at food, so I have to watch my fingers sometimes. ;)

There is another Quoyi initial phase this time coming up for sale on DD today. Mine comes in tomorrow morning!

Wow! Now that's a avatar pic!

Thanks! Really wish I had a nice camera, trying to take a picture of this fish with my iPhone has proven challenging!

Who got the little guy that came in today? I spaced and looked at DD at 3:01 and he was gone. Anyone get the picture of him?

what tank is yours in? I have a 270 and am still wondering how one will look in it. If I'm ever able to track one down.f im

Nice... Post pics when you get him!

Should have him tomorrow morning by 9am is what FedEx told me. Here is a pic of a pic since I am having trouble getting it to load the pic otherwise. He has been at the place I'm getting him from for 3 weeks and is eating very well pellets and mysis

Mine is in a 6' 210g temporarily until my 520 is done, which should be a month or so out. He's perfectly happy where I have him, but I think a 180 would be minimum. Very much looking forward to giving him a bigger home.

Your 270 would be fine.

Very nice Rea17! My wife and I are expecting our first child the end of September, and I promised my wife I won't buy a bigger tank for 10yrs, by that time I will be 40. So needless to say no 750g for me until 2022, look for the upcoming build thread

What a fatty!! Nice job!
