Rabbitfish in reef

I am concidering adding a 2 bar rabbitfish to my reef tank.

Are there success stories out there, or am I kidding myself thinking that if I keep it well fed it will leave my corals alone?

If a rabbitfish if also considered a fox face then yes I have two in two separate tanks that have coral in them and they don't bother them, but if a rabbitfish isn't a fox face I am sorry for wasting your time

2 years ago I was all for Rabbits, now I don't necessarily feel the same. I've probably had over 20 of them in reef tanks, and never had a problem with either S. virgatus or S. doliatus (assuming you mean one of those by "two bar"), but I've now had issues with foxfaces, orange spots, and black spots, at least when they are full-grown adults, and there is no algae present for them to graze on. The majority seem safe, but again, I've had issues with them.

I have a fox face (one spot) that I have had over 2 years and he has never touched any coral but I feed my fish well.

No problem with mine, S. doliatus. Unlike my bristletooth tang that's always nipping at corals. I'd say go for it.

I have had mine for over 7 years in my reef. He has grown fro 2 inches to almost 11 inches now and no problems with him at all. Great fish.

i had one for years. he never bothered anything in my reef tank. he is now in a friends 500 gallon and as far as we know, is still 100% reef safe!

im also considering getting one but im worried about all my expensive chalices getting eaten. Are you saying that if you feed them they wont bother corals? what if you dont feed for a couple days for some reason? Are they gonna destroy everything?
