Radion and VorTech question

I've been scanning the used drygoods selling section quite a bit looking for stuff for a new tank, also selling some stuff. I've noticed that when someone is selling a used Radion, or any LED for that matter, the first question is "how old" which is understandable but everyone wants to know "how many hours" and at "at what intensity". I thought LEDs were supposed last ten years or more so does it really matter?

Second is VorTechs. When you pay that much for a pump it should work for many years but it seems everyone needs to replace the wet side and if you have one more than a couple years old people think they're buying a time bomb.

Am I missing something? Thanks for your replies!

they want to know if it's within the 1 year unlimited warranty. the unlimited part requires paying shipping but parts and labor is free. redundancy on my part for clarity.

I know about the warranty so I understand wanting to know if it is in or out, I'm curious if there are problems I'm not aware of!
