Do a search for the Ecotech / coral labs study. It's a pdf and has a link to some programs they developed that provide amazing results. I would try this before switching from radions
In my opinion, and I speak as an owner of an ATI Hybrid, this is the way to go. You can take the best of T5 for a few hours per day (mine is open 4:30h/d) and the rest of the day with the flexibility and economy of the LEDs. In my case I needed to have the same coverage 3 Radions and my tank is 51x31x24(h) with sps. Before I decide I was proposed to take two Radions, but when I saw it in friends, was not enough for my tank.
Any updates?
What ATI Hybrid lamp would you suggest for a tank with these measurements:
Length: 112cm (44 inches)
Width: 75cm (29 inches)
Height: 60cm (23 inches)
I have a very centered aquascape. Will 4x39w + 2x75w led be enough or do I need 8x39w?
Fwiw, I just canned my 3 Radion Pros over my 48"x24" tank after considering adding a 4th to deal will shadowing and directional light issues, resulting in awkward coral growth and all the dark, bare back sides of my corals clinging to life. An ATi SunPower Dimmable 8x54w has brought the tank back to life. I tried to add a t5 supplement to the 3 Radions, but after a few weeks I realized I should've just stuck to T5 all the way. I may slap on a ReefBrite XHO Actinic LED strip for a little pop, but that's the least of my concerns now.![]()
I would hardly say this was anything more than a sales tactic....
grats on the fixture.
