Radium... why don't you make 250w DE bulbs?

Pic Of my tank with the Phoenix 14k run on an Icecap E ballast. PAR is great with this setup and like I said the Oddysea 20k is 98% identical to the Phoenix 14k.

XM 20ks are great bulbs. E ballasts are hand down the best ballast to run ANY style MH bulb. The run the bulbs at a true 250w not under or over driving them and shortening their life, will fire any SE and DE bulb, run cooler and are more energy efficient.
Here is my tank with the Oddysea 20K same ballast and reflector.

Actually DE bulbs and a select few SE bulbs are HQI spec meaning that an e-ballast under drives them and potentially shortens their life.

I listed the wrong bulb above. I actually have the Giesemann 14.5K MegaChrome. Does Sanjay list any PAR for that bulb? I have to say this is a really ugly bulb by itself. I would never run it alone with out any blue/actinic supplement. It's a white/yellow with no hint of blue whatsoever. Maybe I'll get a pic of the MH alone so you can see what I'm talking about.

has anyone with a PAR meter measured the phoenix 250 de on their tanks? im curious as in the past i used this globe and liked the color...now deciding to go back to MH or ATI for my new tank.

id like SPS on the sandbed which is 20" depth water column.

I liked my Ushio 20k, and AB 20ks in the past. Also really dug the Helios 20ks (although I prefer the 400w SE version over the DE).. Even with that said I switched out my t5/DE combo for a SE's and Radiums and have been really happy with the results.

I figured I would share my recent experience with the Radium 250W bulbs. I recently bought 2 of them from Aquarium Speciality. I run the newer select a watt Lumatek ballasts on HQI setting. When I fired up the first bulb, I got the classic Radium crisp white with blue tint. The second bulb was a whole different story. Initially, the bulb was yellow and appeared to be running at a 10-12K color. After four days it looks like a 13-14K, no blue at all in the coloration. Has anyone else had issues with their Radiums recently? Apparently the only way I am getting a new bulb replacement is going through the Radium warranty process......

Well here is a update for me. I upgraded tanks to a 75g and added a second 250W with the same reflector and ballast. I ma still running the Oddysea 20K and still love them. Since the upgrade my sps have colored up very nicely. The PAR for the Phoenix is right on the money for what I got using the Reef Optics 3 pendant and Icecap ballasts. I was getting 2500 at the waters surface 350 in the middle and 120 on the sand bed, and it was pretty much the same with the Oddysea 20K.
Pic of my 75g, it is a few weeks old some changes have happened like going to BB.

Pictures are useless in seeing true color. Even if you take in RAW and adjust, or adjust white balance, everyone's computer monitors show different colors anyways
