PFO HQI 250w Double Ended (DE) Mini Pendant

PFO 250w HQI Ballast

Here are a few bulbs... I can't get into Sanjay's lighting site to run the combo's to see which would be best given the ballast/reflector though.

Ushio 14k DE Bulb

Hamilton 14k DE Bulb

Pheonix 14k DE Bulb

I just used Marine Depot's site, and went with a PFO setup. Sunlight Supply also makes nice setups. Also I would shop around a little to find the best prices.
I have 2x250w PFO MH's and ballasts over my 4' tank and think they work great. Mine are the Single End mogul versions that I prefer, but I would think the DE are just as good in quality. If you buy one, then you can use it on your bigger tank yet to come.

Do yours sit on the acrylic? Mine will be right next to it.

On another FREAKIN WIERD note, I am leaving for work, the tank has never looked cleaner, the ball thingy still isn't moving, and I actually caught one of my clowns talkng to the nem!!! Not a long conversation, but they did have a short chat. WHAT NEXT, the fish will be playig poker at the kitchen table when I get home from work tonight.

No you don't want it right next to the acrylic. You'll have to hang it or mount it above the tank.

If you don't want to rig something up, then T5's will be about your only alternative. Even then you will need to vent the canopy somehow.

No joke!!! I can't get over how clear my tank is. It almost looks like a normal tank!!! Wink.....mine has always looked like poo, so seeing this is unreal! I was going to take the can fiilter apart tomorrow, but screw that, I'm not touching a thing!

It would be vented, the whole back of the canopy is open. I think I MAY have figured out why it wasnt' working. User error.....don't ask!

went to the LFS today, Grahams tank water is perfection. Mine too, and more clear than ever. I may turn the power off for 30+ hours once a month! :)

I got 20 cerith snails today, and am placing an order tonight from LA. Can't wait.

I'm here Rae and will be in spirit when I'm not posting. :)

My apology to Rae for hijacking this thread with this post, but I cannot contain my excitement.

Just an update for everyone on this thread. I got two RBTAs on Saturday for $10 each. They're about 2 to 2.5 inches in diameter. After the third day the female clown decided to take residence in her new upscale home! That was really quick!

From what I hear, RBTAs grow fast and considering my tank is only 34 gallons, I'll eventually have to remove one of them once it gets bigger.

Here are some pictures. Please excuse the lady clown, she is not looking her best with all her black dots from coral stings.
