rainbow bta

my rainbow bta is eating half of his tenticals off he has had like three in his mouth every day for like a week and when they come out he ate half of the tentical my other bta is doing amazing so what causes this he has almost ate every single tentical anybody have this happen?

Not a clue, but that is definitely not normal. What is your lighting? Your tank size? Where is it in the tank? Do you feed it?

4 bulb t5 30 gal its on a rock about in the middle of my tank . it has been doing good for the last month and a half i do feed it it still takes food. just tested my water everything is good and my other nem is doing great

Typically when they "eat" their tentacles, it is due to malnutrition but it's not in the literal sense. I don't really know what to tell you just keep it well fed. Hopefully someone else will have more experience.
