Raising salt level after Hypo treatment.

What is the best procedure for raising the salt level in a hospital tank after the 4 week+ hypo treatment?

I have a 50 gallon hospital tank, and plan to do this over a 7 day period. approximately .002 each day.

I would prefer not to do large water changes each day, but I'm concerned about adding to much salt laden water at any one time.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You could reduce your water level down to about 30g. Then add in 2 dose(maybe 1hr apart) about 5g of 1.030-1.035 salinity water each time. Do something like that daily.

I would increase it absolutely no more than 1.003 each day.

The simplest way is to just mix SW to your old SG and use it for your topoff. It may take a little while depending on your topoff schedule.

You can also top off with hypersaline water (1.035), or simply take out 5 gallons out of the tank, raise it's salinity, aerate for an hour or two and return it. I know we all like to age SW overnight, but when it is only 10% of total volume, it will be hardly noticable after an hour.
