Ran out of RotiferDiet, now there are choices, need advice.

So It is again time to order more rotifer food. I have been using RotiferDiet since I started breeeding 1.5 years ago. Looks like my vendor of choice (Reeds) now has more offerings.

My current fixation is my breeding of Latezonatus clowns and the high percentage of misbars (100%). I have rasied 3 batches thus far and cannot get full barring. The last two batches have received almost daily 75% water changes. Strictly on Rotifers (days 1- 14) and Oto A (after 7 days). Typically they are finishing meta at the 14th day.

So water quality is great, and I am thinking that maybe a better enrichment forula is needed.

I see several products out there that I am unfamiliar with and since the rotigrow site ios down I cannot get the details I am looking for so if anyone has insight on the good's and bad's of any of these pruduct in comparison to my old standby (Rotifer Diet) please chime in.

Time is crucial since I have about 4 days of RD left. Gresham - Hopefully your responses won't be in violation of any agreements, I would appreciate your input.

Here are the products

RotigrowPlus
RotiGreen
N-Rich

A variety of other instant algae products are also listed but I am hoping for an "All in One" product.

Thank you kindly for your responses.

Took a look at Reed's site. From what I'm reading there, I'd say you want to use the RotigrowPlus as the base feed, with N-Rich as an enrichment added several hours before feeding your larvae.

just my opinon..... i grow phyto, feed that to the rots, maybe 4 mis bars outta 150 fish. I've tried, roti-grow, and a couple others but the rots don't grow like they do with the live phyto... like I said just my opinion and I stopped using the grow products. Now if I can just get the buggers off rods food then I'll be in the black! I also use Dt's phyto and it works for my cultures...

Rotigrow + is way better than Roti Diet. They put alot of research into that product. That's going to be on my next order.

:) Thanks Everyone

The RotiGrow site seems to be working today. As always your insights are appreciated very much.

If I only had the room.......

I would love to be able to utilize live phyto simply for water quality purposes but alas, no time, no space, etc...

I wish I had 4 latz misbars out of 150  Heck I wish I had 150 juveniles period. Soon enough....

Take Care

Huh that's odd as every single hatchery we have sold RG+ to has had higher yields then they have seen with any other phyto, live or concentrate. How were you using them? Did you use Cloram-X in conjunction with them? At least 30% harvest daily?

We run our system at around 5K per ML on paste. What kind of numbers are you getting on live?

Landlord, just RG+, no need for the enrichment in you case.

I use Reeds Nanno 3600 and live Nanno for rots, and only use live in the fry tanks. I dont use Chloram-X so thats why I use the live phyto... probly every 3 days. Helps clean the water IMO.
