I re arranged some of rock in my 55 today and this was growing on the underside of one of my rocks. Rocks have been in my tank for 2+ years. Is it a good or bad nem uploadfromtaptalk1412734597008.jpguploadfromtaptalk1412734621069.jpguploadfromtaptalk1412734643395.jpg

are there different species of aiptasia? cause i have 2 large aiptasia in my tank and this looks nothing like them.

If it has a hard base, it could be a hidden cup coral (Phyllangia Americana); a non-photosynthesis coral. Many reefers keep them in their tanks including me.

Did some research on the hidden cup coral and mine does look like the pictures I could find on them. Also found its a common hitchhiker on florida gulf rock, which is what that rock is. I just have to wait for it to retract itself and see if it has a stony base similar to my hammer corals
