I re arranged some of rock in my 55 today and this was growing on the underside of one of my rocks. Rocks have been in my tank for 2+ years. Is it a good or bad nem

are there different species of aiptasia? cause i have 2 large aiptasia in my tank and this looks nothing like them.

either way im going to try to kill it and the other aiptasia in the tank somehow

If it has a hard base, it could be a hidden cup coral (Phyllangia Americana); a non-photosynthesis coral. Many reefers keep them in their tanks including me.

It does look like it has a hard base. Ill try to take a closer look at the base after the lights go out.

Did some research on the hidden cup coral and mine does look like the pictures I could find on them. Also found its a common hitchhiker on florida gulf rock, which is what that rock is. I just have to wait for it to retract itself and see if it has a stony base similar to my hammer corals
