Rare Anemone at Ki's

Hey! Has anyone been down to Ki's store and seen the orange and green anemone? Please respond only if you have seen this anemone with your own eyes. I sold it to Ki and have one available for sale on eBay and have been getting hatemail saying I am a liar and a fraud. Please help me out with your comments. Thanks so much!

I have been to Ki's store and that anemone is awesome! I have never seen anything like it.......bright orange tenacles with the green body, Wow!
It looks especially nice in that black show tank.

i saw the awesome anemone, i was at the soth gleen mall off wadsworth and boles (sp) and spoke with a man who dove east of fiji in a area that was wiped out by elnino and said that there was a orange anemone 5 ft in diameter and has shots. he said in how ever many dives that he had it was the only one that he saw. he and his brother run a outfit called DeepSeaGalleries.com his name is Rick Lamutt. go to the mall they have some cool pics for sale at a reasonable cost.

I think people have been harsh with their comments but I would say that if you are going to sell something for that high a price its not too much to ask for the scientific name so the buyer could do some research before shelling out a huge amount of money. It looks like an RBTA in the ebay photos, its easy to see why people would get upset.

Bottom line is if it sells then someone thought it was worth it, I don't see any bids right now. At least with all the controversy on RC and RDO you are getting a lot of views ;) This is the third thread I have seen here plus the one on RDO.

lol i paid $40 for mine. the green really comes out under higher spectrum lighting. my 6500k washes out the green during the day. mine has grown from 4" to 7" in about a month and is happy in the tank (not moving around)

Hey MM, long time no see:)

I think it is "rare" enough to justify the high price tag.......the owner of the LFS who is an avid collector of rare corals thought it was also.

Pitbull,

There are about six different threads on this auction going on RC - I will also say that this is the only one I have seen that is somewhat favorable.

While the animal may be worth the bid, your reputation on eBay (Two negative feedbacks out of 11), your past auctions (One "Rare" coral sale for $30 and then a $1,200 animal), plus the auction heading states "Live Coral Anemone.." (Anemones are not corals) and then state it is from Paloa - [actually they are found in Palau, Micronesia] (Could be why you couldn't find any information on it) are not helping your cause.

This is not an attack - only a summary of all the statements posted out there about this auction. As a successful seller on eBay, I would suggest working to build some credibility as a seller, correct the errors on your site and maybe take a better disposition with some of the potential customers out there.

Just my .02

Thanks guys from the Rocky Moutian Reef club for backing me up. Hope to meet you at Ki's sometime!!! (maybe tomorrow ;)

I would suggest putting it as a sub-heading (.10 more) and listing it as "Reef - Coral - Saltwater - Aquariums - Animals"

You will get the search hits you are looking for without the other issues.

Hope it helps.

I had my wife take a picture of my anemoneââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s and asked her to post them on eBay. I came home to the most immature frenzy of emails. I am sorry that the pictures really donââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t do the anemoneââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s justice; I am working on getting better pictures. However, they way you men would speak to a woman in appalling. All I tried to do is provide fellow hobbyist with an extremely unique anemone, which is an opportunity that should be taken seriously. What you should do is go to the Colorado Reef Club Forum of Reef Central ââ"šÂ¬Ã…"œColorado Rocky Mountainââ"šÂ¬Ã‚. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=392750
Read the letters posted about a week ago regarding these anemones. No one who has seen these with their own eyes has any doubt of their rarity. Stay tuned, you will be hearing a lot about these in the coming months. Cris Kapp who won tank of the month in February in Reef Keeping Magazine has seen it and confirms this anemone is a great find.
P.S. To all the Sherlockââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s out there: Great investigative work!!! My name is Patrick Wascher and I have not been trying to hide it. My email is pwascher2000@yahoo.com. Also: Yes, I have 3 more of these, why would I sell one if it is the only one I have

I've seen Ki's. It's awesome, but I agree with the post above. There's no way I'd spend $1200 on an anenome from someone who has ANY negative feedback with only 11 feedback and. Between that and wanting $1200 for an item that you had so little information on, you're just not going to get my bid. I would expect that someone willing to spend $1200 on an anenome is probably going to be looking for it and know more than you do about it. Either way, that's just my opinion

I like this so called rare amenome. I dont know anything about amenomes but when I saw it I got lost in it's beauty. If it's not to much to ask what did you pay for it when did you get it and where. I agree if you are going to try to sell somthing for this price you should try to find out the name and alittle more about it. Never the less it is very very cool.
