I have gotten a Pair of them, or what I believe to be a pair, one has a lyretail and the other doesn't

we recieved them by mistake at my work... so I took both home thinking they were Yellowtail Fang Bennys... but after closer examination I relized I had Blackline Fangs...

anyone have these? anyone know much about them?>

here is a link for reference

I cant seem to find much info on them! Besides they a rarer blenny

I'd feed them cyclopeeze and the like...they're a neat fish, by the look of them. Never had a fang blenny: have had the comb-tooth, and am very fond of them.

I find myself loveing the Meiacanthus species more and more.. it all started with a canary fang blenny!

these guys are fun to watch...

Anyone know anything about these guys?????????

geeze, so far the Male is eatting mysis well, and the female is only wanting to try and eat the amphipods that Im collecting from my display for her... but even then she acts like she wants to eat them... but decides not to...

I can NOT find any information on them at ALL! Well I have found some ok sites, but mainly they just show a picture, and a little bit of info on them, nothing like diet, care, compatability, breeding, sexing etc...

What do you need to know? They are venomous, possessing some awesome fangs toward the back of their mouths. They feed quite heavily on zooplankton like fare, accepting most substitutes, IME (at least healthy individuals). They may occasionally pick at the substrate, but it is not common. Relatively easy, so long as they have plenty of food (high metabolisms) and don't have any overly aggressive competitors.

Well that was the most help Ive gotten so far!

My female is still not eatting, she picks at mysis, and watches Fireworms and pods, picking at them every once and a while, but not eatting, her color is still good and she is still active. She swims by the male all the time, they male is eatting ALOT..

Anything I can do to help her eat?

Hmm. Not terribly uncommon. When they first arrive, they will often only feed off of the live rock. Just keep trying with the various foods. If you have a source of it, try some live foods. Oh, also try cyclopeeze if you have it. The fact that she is still active and normal is definitely a good sign.

I have tried cyclop... its not too hot for her.

I have been collected pods to feed her and she seems slightly interested, and wanting to pick

Her belly looks food deprived... yes it is sunk in a bit.

Still not wanting to except mysis...
but she does chace amphipods like mad... just nipping, but not wanting to ingest.

I'd try some gut loaded live brine...if she eats them at least you can get her healthy and then wean her onto frozen.

no, I HATE garlic, and I dont believe it does a THING besides add a bunch of CRAP to your water and make the room smell like a italian eatery

Hey...

She is still not responsive to frozen foods...

after a week without eatting, you would think, seeing the male eat up mysis she would too... but she still isnt, and getting skinny

I think its safe to assume that something needs to be done so I dont loose her...

What about live blackworms?

I know I can get those.

I will go and get a bit of live blackworms today after work and see what she has to say about them!

hopefully this will promt her to start eatting things besides.... water.
