I participated in this week's sale which took place on Wednesday @ 10:52pm and was the first "sold" on three items. The process was supposed to be that they would then invoice you via email to either ship or pick up the item.

I've noticed that myself and quite a few others have not received their invoice. So far I've made multiple contact attempts with no response, via facebook, email and telephone - nothing.

I recall asking about reputable LFS on here awhile back and they were quick to respond - now, not so much.

So, in closing has anyone had the same or a similar experience with this vendor? I'm starting to think it was some sort of scam to draw up publicity - unfortunately they seemed to have some nice pieces at good prices. Plus, no offense but I would like to support our local guys...

Hopefully someone at Rare Reef will see this and respond telling me that there were some unforeseen circumstances and they're just catching up to their emails because the sale was that much of a success..:hmm2:

Rare Reef

I have never had a problem with the guys at Rare Reefs. The have always been provided great service and corals. Their auctions are always a big success so they might just be behind on trying to get out invoices. Drop them a message on their facebook page or try calling again.

+1 ive had several issues with them ive won auctions never received a invoice and even before they did their fb live sale and just posted pics and prices i ordered and would never get a invoice i would send several emails and would never hear back ive gotten a few boxes from them and some stuff didnt seem to be as it was in pics. not to bad talk a vendor but thats not business like to me so in that case i dont deal with them anymore they have nice coral and great prices but the communication is very poor unless its trying to bring in customers getting people all hyped up.. hope they get you taken care of

Surprise:celeb1:

They are awful. Bunch of losers. They transship from whole sellers direct to customers. They are about as smart as the invertebrates they carry. All photos are photo shopped under blue LED's. Buyer beware.....do not waste your money. They were originally frag farmer and had their business license revoked from the state of Florida. Google them and you see all sorts of great Facebook posts from the owners against the customers. Kind of amusing but would never want to buy, or support them.

They have been banned from most forums and many local frag swaps. Gave up dealing with them as I showed up several times to pick stuff up and no one was there way to
Much drama

Way to much drama is an understatement. They are the wannabe gangstas of reef keeping. Except there a bunch of nerdy dorky "think there smart" nerds. They talk so much smack, but when you confront them in person they cower. It's hysterical. Save yourself a headache, and don't waste your time. It's worth the extra 100 dollars you might save to not buy their mediocre corals. Besides that they mistreat the animals. Support a local fish store who genuinely cares about the environment and their customers.

RareReef or whatever name they go by now have been doing this for a while but some people never learn. They delete comments from facebook all the time, their reviews on facebook are from the employees themselves lol. I give them credit for hyping stuff up, their new live sale idea is genius. Before, their albums will sell within a week or longer, now with the "live sale" banner, they can sell the same corals much much faster.

Their prices are good but their corals are usually unhealed and fresh cut.
I think the worst part is that they think they are the s**t, they give no attention to customers, never respond to emails or phone and have excuses for days. I have seen them curse people out on facebook and later delete their comments. There are always shipment delays because of something unexpected.

Their corals might not be photoshopped, but they do edit their pictures. Often times, their pictures are misleading, too enhanced giving false perception of coral size etc. I would say they try really hard to scam people and like other poster said, I am shocked that people still do business with them and deal with their antics.
