RAREst fish in your sps tank

hey vili shark

you say that you have a B. opercularis?
or is it the B masudai, they look very similar as you know
could you post a picture?

I have seen only one other one in my lifetime, and I happened to
see one on my travels, and picked him up.

Berlin_method,
I knew that this thread would get you to post pics of your new intteruptus, I had 3 last year. I sold one to rare_angels here on the board. and yes they were tank raised so they may be around a little more frequently.

Peppermint angels should be left in the oceans!!!!
of 3 that a wholesaler had, they did not last a couple of weeks.

Conspics angel......there is one on sale on the sale forum from reefscapes.

Resplendent angels are next on my list, yeah that convergent evolution makes that $20 starki damsel look so much more appealling.

DOES ANYONE WANT TO SHOW THEIR FISH WITH THEIR TANKS???

and no yellow tangs Dale

thanks bryan

hi,
Moonpod and PR
I have no experience with the multicolors, I saw one in a showtank and it was picking on everything in the tank incld. some Acros.
I also read something about it in one board, cant remember where.

Anyway, it's not the multicolor I'm after, it's the nahackyi, anybody saw it?and if so, how much was it?

For the next Angel, it'll be a Japanese or a hotumatua.
And I always wait for the Mauritius shipment that might bring the Gem tang and the C.debelius.

Fishnerd, it is surely opercularis, it came from Mauritius and the colors are bright red with white stripes(the white striped are narrower) while the masudai have deeper red and the red and white stripes are same thickness.
Could buy Massudai in the same shop, but I'm afraid of Indonesia fish, I bought a massudai a year ago and it did not make it on the flight, packing was excellent, and it waz in my hand bag.

Well, not really b/c one I'm a terrible photographer, and two my fish aren't really all that "rare", but here's a pix w/one of the african leopards in the background and the regal in there too I think.

When I 1st got my Orange Spotted Rabbitfish a year ago, there didn't seem to be much around but lately I have seen them regularly.

That's funny, when I bought my square spot anthias I thought It was an uncommon fish in the average reef tank. But when you actually have the fish, you really notice how popular they are. I feel like I see a thread a day on them now.

would have to be my blue jaw trigger, not that many people seem to have them in reeftanks..

he is still a little guy, had him for 9 months now and he is still only about 3.5"

here is adult coloration
xanthichthys_auromarginatus_bluejaw_triggerfish35653.jpg

that and my mated pair of true percs with absolutely perfect coloration, some of the best looking clowns i have ever seen

I have what is probably the dottyback in the attached (hopefully) pic. It was sold to me a couple years back as a sunrise dottyback and the only place I was ever able to find a pic of something similar was on this website
http://fishpix.kahaku.go.jp/fishimage/simple_search.html
That's where this pic came from. They refer to it as Labracinus cyclophthalma, and show several pics of fish with that name that show wide color variations. As usual the pic does it no justice as the nose and tail are deep dusky blue and there is an electric blue edge on the unpaired fins.

I also have a yellow fuzzy dwarf lion, and the black form of the amphiprion polymnus clown.

None of them were particularly expensive, but all seem hard to come by.

Not a rare fish, but as stated most folks don't keep imperators in their reef tanks.
They are well behaved reef citizens as long as you get them young.

I have and emperator angel, sohal and purple tang. The purple is not that rare and neither is the sohal but redsea stuff is not easy to get or cheap.

Orange spotted rabbit fish

Orange spotted rabbit fish

Beautiful pics everybody.
Can somebody tell me the sci name of the orange spotted rabbit fish? I would love to look up some information on it but all google gives me is the orange spotted grouper.
Thanks,

Funny story...I just tried to post a true B. opercularis for sale and a mod pulled it down because I didnt list a price

Those are the new rules now. Anything in the for sale section of this forum MUST include a price. There's no evil agenda at play, those are just the new rules now. BTW, nice fish. ;)
